As the world is today, we have all conditioned ourselves to distrust everybody. Notwithstanding, there are still a few "good guys" that will help you uncompensated and unselfishly. I just had the pleasure of discussing my HECM reverse loan situation with Kevin Ward Walton. He spent – easily – 30 minutes on the phone with me advising me and helping me with a another HECM loan companies offer. I asked him if he would like to take a crack at my loan, but he said if the advice he had given me wasn't, or didn't, work with the other loan officer, that I should call him again and he would refer a good loan officer here in Florida. Frankly, I am so indebted to this guy, and so impressed with this guy, and so completely grateful to him that I would recommend him HIGHLY to anyone seeking a HECM reverse loan. People like this are VERY hard to find. One of the things he told me was very interesting. He told me that his mother is 92 years old and she gets bombarded with all kinds of scams. He said someone should be in place to help the elderly and protect them from this kind of skullduggery. He also said that he felt that it was incumbent on him to help the elderly so that they wouldn't fall victim to greedy and/or unethical loan agents. Again, I recommend him highly.
